Buried deep in the heart of industrial Tokyo resides Aston Martin Racing and ACR Performance, where amalgamations of track-driven show cars are born. Casually parked outside as we arrived was a naked carbon-bodied GT3-spec Vantage. As the overhead door reeled up, the Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 and Roadster on Vossen Wheels were revealed.
Built by Alpha Classics Racing, Japan’s Aston Martin Racing division, this burgundy duo was turning all the heads at Tokyo Auto Salon in January where they were debuted, alongside their fully-race-prepped GT3 counterpart.
Gutted and fitted with a race-spec roll cage, the Aston Martin Vantage Coupe is all business under its elegant body. Race suspension and brakes, along with a limited slip differential were all evident as we carefully maneuvered it around the backlot in Shin-Kiba, Japan. ACR Performance’s new widebody package includes a minimally-sophisticated carbon valence kit around the perimeter of the car, broken up only by the race-spec rear diffuser.
Fitted with Vossen Forged VPS-315T wheels in Satin Gold finish, the widebody coupe is effortlessly filled with maximum wheel and tire width, 20×11 front and 20×12.5 rear, while the X-brace and tubing of the roll cage peaks through the car’s windows.
Across the lot is the Coupe’s road-ready, drop-top counterpart, another Aston Martin Vantage V8. Supercharged to create 600bhp, the roadster version of the Vantage is fitted with air supension from Airrex, bringing the red-on-red body right to the ground.
The same widebody kit accommodates the Vantage’s unbelievably wide wheels, this time the VWS-2 style of our Vossen x Work 2-Piece series, also measuring 20×11 front and 20×12.5 rear. Finished with a Matte Gunmetal center and brushed anodized barrel, the VWS-2 creates a perfect contrast against the metallic red and carbon fiber body—no easy feat when a red leather interior is also in the mix!
