MOMO and Ferrari Reunited Again!

THE enduring partnership between iconic Italian brands Ferrari and MOMO will be resurrected at this year’s Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.

FUEL AUTOTEK is proud to
announce MOMO will be reuniting with Ferrari for Maranello Motorsport’s 2017 Bathurst 12 Hour campaign.

The Maranello Motorsport 488 GT3, to be driven by Bathurst legends Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup, along with factory Ferrari ace Toni Vilander, will sport MOMO branding throughout the 2017 event.

MOMO and Ferrari have a lengthy history, the brands first united in 1964 when John Surtees’ Ferrari won the Formula One World Championship using a MOMO Wheel.

The brand then became the first automotive brand to feature MOMO original equipment in the 1970s, and became even more intrinsically linked via the iconic MOMO Ferrari 333SP Sports Car program throughout the 1990s.

“The MOMO brand has a strong shared history with Ferrari and we are thrilled that MOMO and Ferrari will be racing together again at the Bathurst 12 Hour,” said Scott Crosher, Marketing Manager for official Australian MOMO importer and distributor FUEL AUTOTEK.

“The two iconic Italian brands have enjoyed a successful partnership in endurance racing. MOMO founder Gianpiero Moretti won the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring and 6 hour Watkins Glen driving the legendary Ferrari 333 SP in 1998.

“This is a great opportunity to reunite these brands in what is shaping up as being one of the best races of the year.”

Maranello Motorsport Team Principal Mark Coffey said his team was excited to welcome MOMO to the fold.

“It is special to be representing Ferrari’s racing efforts at Mount Panorama, let alone to do it with such an iconic brand on our car as well,” he said.

“A lot of effort and energy has gone into this campaign and we’re confident that we have the pieces of the puzzle in place to give Ferrari and MOMO the best possible chance to return to the top of the podium.

“Craig (Lowndes) and Jamie (Whincup) have settled in well and Toni is so experienced that he will jump in the car in practice and be right on the money.

“It’s an exciting time and we’re really looking forward to getting back to the Mountain.”

The 2017 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 hour will be contested across the February 3-5 weekend and will be broadcast live on 7mate around Australia.
